Cherry Glass is a family-owned glassblowing business in Northern Minnesota. We make a variety of functional, and non-functional hand-blown glass art. We also add real insects to our art by electroforming them in copper and applying them onto our glass pieces. We have three months of summer to collect bugs where we live, so we gather what insects we can and the rest are shipped to us from collectors and friends! We also incorporate crystals, stones, and Brazilian agate slabs in our work and connect everything together with different color patinas.
We have plated the following organic material:
Scot started blowing glass in 2002. After a four year apprenticeship Scot started Cherry Glass in 2006. His mother, Linda Bennett, started collaborating with electroforming real bugs, stones, and working with patinas with his pieces in 2012. Scot's wife Ryan, and friends Tyler and Travis are currently apprenticing under Scot.
Scot Bennet was featured in High Times Magazine as Artist of the Month in September 2015! You can read the article over at High Times!
